Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
Between lectures, lab hours or a rotating shift, a calmer pace does not make attention any easier. Practical, skills-based ADHD therapy for adults in Guelph, online across Ontario.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

Including the part of this that was never only about focus. Sessions in either language.
No commute and no waiting room, so the trip to an appointment is one less thing to manage.
Insurance receipts provided after every session. Tina is a fully Registered Psychotherapist, so psychotherapy with an RP is commonly covered; please confirm the details with your insurer.

Guelph is a university city. The University of Guelph and Conestoga College's Guelph campus bring thousands of students to the city every September, along with graduate researchers and postdoctoral fellows whose work has no bell at the end of the day. Adult ADHD often surfaces in exactly these settings. The structure of school falls away, the reading is long and self-directed, and a thesis can stretch over years with no one checking in daily. Students who coasted on quickness can find themselves, for the first time, unable to start. For international students there is another layer: a new language of instruction, a new academic culture, and no family nearby to notice when things begin to slip.
Guelph's manufacturing jobs, at Linamar's plants and elsewhere in the city, often mean shift work, and a rota that keeps changing removes the regular sleep and routine an ADHD brain leans on heavily. If life here feels relatively calm, that can make ADHD harder to talk about. When the environment is quiet and you are still losing the thread, the easy conclusion is that the problem must be you. It is not: ADHD is a difficulty with the systems that turn intention into action, and a quieter street does not change those systems.
The work is cognitive behavioural, concrete and small-scale: externalize what working memory keeps dropping, shorten the gap between deciding and starting, and build systems that survive a bad week, an exam season or a change of shift. We also address the self-criticism directly, because it often takes the form of guilt toward other people, a supervisor, a lab group, a family, rather than frustration at oneself. Questions about assessment or medication belong with a physician; sessions focus on the everyday mechanics of getting things done. Sessions are online, in English or Farsi.
