Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
Steady with your hands, lost in the paperwork; wide awake in studio at 2 a.m., behind on everything else. Practical ADHD work for adults in Cambridge, online.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

Tina Abadi, RP, CRPO #13777, with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
Including the part of this that was never only about focus. Sessions in either language.
No commute and no waiting room, so the trip to an appointment is one less thing to manage.
Insurance receipts provided after every session. Tina is a fully Registered Psychotherapist, so psychotherapy with an RP is commonly covered; please confirm the details with your insurer.

A lot of Cambridge works with its hands: assembly and machining, skilled trades, warehouse and logistics work, the jobs that keep a manufacturing city running. For many adults with ADHD that part of the job goes well, sometimes very well. It is the other part that comes apart: the certification renewal left too late, the timesheet, the online training module, the shift swap that needed confirming by Friday. Being visibly capable on the floor and hopeless at the desk is one of the more familiar shapes adult ADHD takes, and it is easily mistaken for laziness, including by the person living it. A promotion to lead hand or supervisor can make it worse, because it trades time on the tools for time on schedules, reports and email.
Cambridge also has students whose work runs on deadlines and long nights. The University of Waterloo School of Architecture has its home in an old riverside silk mill in Galt, and a studio culture of all-nighters and last-minute reviews can hide ADHD for years, because the pressure of a deadline supplies the urgency an ADHD brain otherwise struggles to produce. Students at Conestoga College's Cambridge campus can meet a version of the same thing. When the deadlines spread out, or the job that follows has no review at the end of the week, the old strategy stops working.
The work with Tina is cognitive behavioural and concrete: making the invisible admin visible, shortening it, and attaching it to something that already happens reliably, with routines sturdy enough to survive a rotating shift or a change of rota. Alongside that, sessions look at the self-criticism that tends to build up over years of being told to try harder. It often shows up as impatience with yourself rather than as worry, but it does similar damage. Where an assessment or medication is part of the picture, that conversation belongs with a physician; the work here is the practical, day-to-day side. Sessions are online across Ontario, in English or Farsi.
