Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
New house, new school, new doctors, and a household running on routines you had to invent from scratch. Practical ADHD support for adults in Milton, online.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

Including the part of this that was never only about focus. Sessions in either language.
No commute and no waiting room, so the trip to an appointment is one less thing to manage.

Milton's population reached 132,979 in the 2021 Census, and for anyone who has moved here recently, the town's growth has meant setting up a life from nothing: a new house, a new school, new doctors, new routines. For an adult with ADHD, a move like that removes the scaffolding that used to work without anyone noticing, such as the pharmacy you knew, the route you never had to think about, the parent nearby who remembered birthdays. Everything has to be rebuilt at once, and that is exactly the kind of task ADHD makes expensive.
The difficulty usually shows up at home first: the school form that never got signed, the appointment missed twice, the sense of being the least reliable adult in your own household. Underneath is the ordinary mechanism, working memory that drops things and starting that stalls, and often a partner who has quietly become the administrator of two lives. In a growing town, school runs, activities and errands can mean a lot of driving, and every trip is another transition to manage.
September tends to be a hard month. A new school year brings forms, schedules, lunches and activities all at once, and in a household where one adult carries most of the planning, that month can tip things over. Planning for predictable pressure points like this before they arrive, rather than recovering from them afterwards, is one of the more useful things the work can do.
Tina Abadi, RP, works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches: concrete systems that put the dropped things somewhere outside your head, anchored to routines you already have. Where it helps, the work can include an honest conversation about how the load at home is shared; Tina works with individuals and couples, so that conversation can happen in session if you both want it. Sessions are online across Ontario, in English or Farsi.
