Practical tools for a quieter mind.

I'm Tina, a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. My approach is warm, person-centred and inclusive, and I work with individuals, couples, and families with teens and young adults. What matters most to me is that the room feels safe and free of judgment, so reflecting honestly becomes possible. Sessions in English and Farsi (فارسی).

What Tina Works With

Where this work is at its best.

I.

Anxiety, Depression & Sleep

The thought loop, the racing body, the low mood that flattens a week, the nights that don't restore. Anxiety and depression, the moods that swing between them, and the checking and reassurance-seeking that anxiety sometimes recruits. CBT gives you something to do with each of these, and something to practise between sessions.

II.

ADHD & Executive Function

Not a character flaw. We build systems that fit how your attention actually works, and unpick the shame layered on top of it.

III.

Grief, Trauma & Life Transitions

Loss, endings, a career that has started costing more than it gives, and the stretches where your life changes shape faster than you can adjust to it. Trauma-informed, and paced to you.

IV.

Couples

Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples: structured, practical, and aimed at the pattern between you rather than at either person.

How Tina Works

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. My training is grounded in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused work, with attachment-based and compassion-focused work alongside it, and further training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.

In practice that means sessions are structured without being rigid. We name what you want to be different, work out what is holding it in place, and leave you with something to try before the next one. I would rather you leave with one thing you can actually use than a week of insight you can’t act on.

A good deal of what people bring sits between the headings above: a temper that arrives before you do, a job that has quietly eaten the rest of the week, a sense of yourself that never recovered from being told who you were. Anger, career stress and burnout, and low self-esteem all respond to the same pairing (a clear look at the pattern, and a kind one at the person caught in it).

Structure only helps if the room is safe first. My approach is warm, person-centred and inclusive, and it is shaped by working with people across cultures and languages, including people living in more than one at once. Nothing you bring has to be explained twice or apologised for.

With couples, the work slows the argument down far enough that you can both hear what sits underneath it. It is practical and skills-based, and it is aimed at the relationship rather than at either person in the room.

Family therapy is for families with teens, adolescents and young adults. Sessions are virtual across Ontario, in English and Farsi.
