If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).

Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).

What This Actually Is

When the problem was never effort

Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.

(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)

The Approach

Practical, and aimed at where the day actually breaks

Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.

The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

Questions

Common questions

My commute across Mississauga eats my mornings and I'm always running late. Can therapy help with time blindness?
It can be a focus of the work. Tina Abadi, RP (CRPO #13777), uses practical CBT strategies for estimating and protecting time: building in buffers, making departure times visible, and cutting down the decisions you have to make before you leave the house. Sessions are online across Ontario, in English or Farsi, so therapy doesn't take another drive out of the day.
I do well at a structured job in Mississauga, but home is chaos. Does ADHD work like that?
Often, yes. Work supplies deadlines, colleagues and consequences, all of which prop up executive function; home supplies none of them. Tina Abadi, RP (CRPO #13777), helps you build the missing structure where it is actually needed, in practical terms rather than general advice. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work.
Can a psychotherapist diagnose ADHD?
No. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication, and this page is general information rather than an assessment. What therapy does is work on the difficulties themselves: starting, sequencing, remembering, and the shame that usually accompanies them. If you want a formal assessment, that is a conversation for your physician.
What kind of therapy do you use for ADHD?
Primarily cognitive behavioural and solution-focused work, which means sessions are structured and tend to end with something specific to try before the next one. Where there is trauma or long-standing self-criticism in the picture, the work is trauma-informed and paced to you.
Is online therapy effective for this kind of work?
Yes. Research finds video-delivered therapy comparable to in-person work for the concerns treated here, and executive-function strategies translate without loss. For many adults with ADHD, removing the trip to an appointment also removes one of the more common reasons appointments get missed.
Do I need a referral to start?
No referral is needed to begin psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist. A free 15-minute consultation is the usual starting point, to talk about what is bringing you here and whether working together feels right.
What does it cost, and is it covered?
Individual sessions are $180 for 60 minutes, with a free 15-minute consultation to start. Receipts are provided after every session. Tina Abadi is a fully Registered Psychotherapist, so psychotherapy with an RP is commonly covered for her sessions; it is still worth confirming the details with your insurer.

Mississauga

ADHD Therapy for Mississauga adults

In the 2021 Census, 52 per cent of Mississauga commuters spent at least 30 minutes getting to work, and roughly three-quarters of them drove alone. For an adult with ADHD, a long solo drive is an odd kind of time: attention drifts, the thing you meant to remember at the next stop is gone by the time you park, and arriving late, or early and flustered because you overcorrected, becomes one more entry in a long record of feeling disorganised.

Structured workplaces can hide ADHD. About 49,000 Mississauga residents work in the natural and applied sciences alone, and many more hold jobs with clear deadlines, supervisors and systems someone else built. Work supplies the external structure that ADHD coping depends on; home supplies almost none. So the same person who delivers on time at work may be living with unopened mail, missed renewals and a partner who has stopped trusting the calendar, and concluding that they are fundamentally disorganised, which is both inaccurate and corrosive.

Tina Abadi, RP, works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches: a small number of systems attached to routines that already happen, such as the drive home or the moment you walk in the door, and direct attention to the self-criticism that tends to follow years of compensating. Sessions are online, in English or Farsi, so therapy doesn't add another trip to the week.
