Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
Coursework at Sheridan, a role at a head office, a train to catch at Oakville GO. Outside structure can carry adult ADHD for years, until it changes. Practical, skills-based support, online.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

Including the part of this that was never only about focus. Sessions in either language.
No commute and no waiting room, so the trip to an appointment is one less thing to manage.
Insurance receipts provided after every session. Tina is a fully Registered Psychotherapist, so psychotherapy with an RP is commonly covered; please confirm the details with your insurer.

Going back to school as an adult, whether at Sheridan College's Trafalgar Campus on Trafalgar Road or anywhere else, is one of the moments ADHD tends to become visible. A workplace supplies deadlines, colleagues and a manager who notices; self-directed study supplies none of those, and the strategies that got someone through years of work can fall apart in a single term of long assignments and open weeks.
The same thing happens at work. Ford of Canada, Siemens Canada and Geotab all run their head offices from Oakville, and roles like these often reward looking organized more than the effort behind it. Plenty of adults with ADHD manage by working longer than colleagues need to, catching up on weekends and holding everything in working memory. That works until a promotion, a new baby or a move to hybrid work removes a piece of the structure, and then the gap feels like a personal collapse rather than a predictable result.
Some adults start wondering about ADHD after a child is assessed and the description sounds uncomfortably familiar. Others come because a partner or a manager named the pattern first. You do not need a formal diagnosis to begin. The work focuses on what is getting in the way now, in study, at work and at home, and on systems that make those parts of life lighter.
Tina Abadi, RP, works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, so the work is concrete: putting what working memory keeps dropping somewhere outside your head, and using the transitions you already have, such as leaving for the Lakeshore West train or sitting down at your desk, as anchors for small, repeatable habits. The other half is the self-criticism that tends to build up by the time an adult books a first session. Sessions are online, in English or Farsi.
