Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
Knowledge work, long commutes and a lot to keep track of. Practical ADHD therapy for adults in Toronto, online, in English or Farsi.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
Tina Abadi, RP, CRPO #13777, with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
Including the part of this that was never only about focus. Sessions in either language.
No commute and no waiting room, so the trip to an appointment is one less thing to manage.
Insurance receipts provided after every session. Tina is a fully Registered Psychotherapist, so psychotherapy with an RP is commonly covered; please confirm the details with your insurer.

Toronto's working life leans hard on the skills ADHD makes expensive. About 41% of residents aged 15 and over hold a bachelor's degree or higher (2021 Census), and a great deal of knowledge work runs on email, meetings and long self-directed projects rather than visible, immediate tasks. That is exactly where executive function shows: starting the report due in three weeks, keeping hold of what was agreed in the fourth meeting of the day, replying to the message you read and meant to answer. Many capable adults cover the gap with late nights and weekends, and the cost stays private until a new role, with more coordination and less structure, removes the scaffolding that was quietly holding things together.
Getting around adds its own load. In the 2021 Census, taken while many offices were quiet, one Toronto commuter in eight still travelled an hour or more each way. For an ADHD brain, travel is where time estimates go wrong: the transfer that takes longer than planned, the keys that are not where they should be, the particular shame of arriving flustered again. Online sessions take one trip off the list, so an hour of therapy costs an hour rather than an afternoon, and there is no waiting room to find on a day that is already running late.
The work is cognitive behavioural and practical: finding the exact point where the day breaks down, putting something outside your head at that point, and turning distant deadlines into starts that can happen this week. The systems are kept deliberately small, so they have a chance of surviving a bad week, and the next session adjusts what did not stick rather than starting over. Alongside it, the self-criticism, which tends to be loud in a city where comparison is always close at hand. Tina Abadi, RP, works in English and Farsi (فارسی), online across Ontario.
