Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
A new term at York or Seneca, a new route on Line 6, and the same trouble getting started. ADHD therapy for adults in North York, online, in English or Farsi.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

Tina Abadi, RP, CRPO #13777, with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
Including the part of this that was never only about focus. Sessions in either language.
No commute and no waiting room, so the trip to an appointment is one less thing to manage.
Insurance receipts provided after every session. Tina is a fully Registered Psychotherapist, so psychotherapy with an RP is commonly covered; please confirm the details with your insurer.

North York is full of adult learners. York University's Keele Campus serves more than 52,000 students, and Seneca Polytechnic's Newnham Campus sits on Finch Avenue East near Highway 404. University or college is often where ADHD first becomes hard to miss: the structure of high school falls away, deadlines move weeks apart, and a student who got through on last-minute effort meets reading loads that effort can no longer cover. Mature students returning to study while working or parenting feel it twice over, and many assume the problem is age or motivation rather than attention.
If you are a student, campus counselling and accessibility services are worth using, and therapy can run alongside them rather than instead of them. What matters in therapy is where your days actually break down, and what has been tried there already. For many adults the turning point is a graduate program, a professional certification or a return to school after years at work, the moment when strategies that carried them this far quietly stop working.
Getting around North York has changed as well. Line 6 Finch West opened in December 2025 and Line 5 Eglinton, along the district's southern edge, in February 2026. New routes mean new estimates of how long everything takes, which is exactly the calculation ADHD makes unreliable, and online sessions remove one trip from the week. The work itself is cognitive behavioural and practical: finding the point where the day breaks, building small systems that survive a bad week, and easing the self-criticism that follows every missed start. For some people that history, of focus treated at home as a question of discipline, is easier to talk about in the language it happened in. Tina Abadi, RP, works in English and Farsi (فارسی), online across Ontario.
