Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
A commute that changed under you, coursework that runs on self-direction, and a brain that relies on routine. Practical ADHD support for adults in Scarborough, online.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

Tina Abadi, RP, CRPO #13777, with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
Including the part of this that was never only about focus. Sessions in either language.
No commute and no waiting room, so the trip to an appointment is one less thing to manage.
Insurance receipts provided after every session. Tina is a fully Registered Psychotherapist, so psychotherapy with an RP is commonly covered; please confirm the details with your insurer.

Routines are scaffolding for an ADHD brain, and in Scarborough a lot of that scaffolding used to be the commute. Since Line 3 closed in 2023, trips that once ran on a train depend on a shuttle bus to Kennedy and a transfer to the subway, and a journey with more moving parts is exactly the kind attention struggles with: the missed connection that turns into a late start, the unexpected wait that swallows the time you had set aside for the task you finally meant to begin. Line 5 has run west from Kennedy along Eglinton since February 2026, which helps some trips, but a new route is also a new routine to build from scratch.
Many adults in the district are studying, too. The University of Toronto Scarborough and Centennial College include mature students, people returning after years of work, and people who are the first in their families to go to college or university, and self-directed study is where ADHD patterns tend to show themselves: the reading that never starts, the assignment finished at 3 a.m., the sense that everyone else was handed a secret about managing time. It is also worth saying plainly that not everyone had the chance to be assessed as a child. A family that was new to Canada, a crowded classroom or a school system in another country does not always leave room for it, so the first real conversation about attention can happen in someone's thirties or forties.
The work with Tina Abadi, RP, is cognitive behavioural and concrete: routines that survive a changed bus schedule, study and work systems built around how your attention actually behaves, and direct work on the long-held conclusion that you were simply not trying hard enough. That conclusion is usually the heavier half, and it gets as much attention as the practical strategies. Sessions are online across Ontario, in English or Farsi, so there is no extra trip to fit around a class timetable or a shift.
