Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
A GO platform, a bridge over the 401, a car in the driveway: the in-between moments are where an ADHD day tends to break, and where small systems can hold. Practical ADHD support for adults in Pickering, online.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

Many Pickering days have a commute built into them, whether that means the 401 or the Lakeshore East GO line, where a pedestrian bridge carries people over the highway between the station and Pickering City Centre. For an adult with ADHD, the hardest parts of that day are rarely the long stretches. They are the transitions: getting out of the house on time with everything you need, switching from work mode to home mode, starting the evening task you planned in the morning. Each one asks for initiation and working memory at exactly the moment you have the least of both.
Life at home can multiply those transitions. In north Pickering, new neighbourhoods keep filling in as the planned community of Seaton grows, and a new house can arrive alongside a new baby, a new school or a longer trip to work. When routines are being rebuilt from scratch, adults whose ADHD felt manageable under the old ones can find that it suddenly isn't. That is usually not a sign of getting worse. It means the scaffolding that quietly did some of the work has been taken away, and it needs rebuilding on purpose.
By the time most adults reach out, there is also a long private history to deal with: years of concluding that the problem is character rather than attention, initiation and working memory. Naming that accurately is not an excuse. For many people it is the first accurate description they have had, and the self-criticism it replaces is often the part that cost the most.
The work with Tina Abadi, RP, is cognitive behavioural and practical. Together you find where the day actually breaks and put something small and repeatable there: a bag packed by the door the night before, a two-minute review on the platform, one shared list that everyone in the house uses. Where a partner has been absorbing the overflow, that is worth addressing too, and Tina works with couples as well as individuals. Sessions are online across Ontario, in English or Farsi, so there is no extra trip to add to the week.
