Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
Shifts that move, a full house and a to-do list that restarts every morning: ADHD makes that load heavier, and it is workable. Practical ADHD support for adults in Ajax, online.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

Two of Ajax's largest workplaces run on shifts. Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital is the town's biggest employer, and the Amazon fulfillment centre that opened in north Ajax in 2021 is a shift-based logistics operation. For an adult with ADHD, a schedule that keeps changing can be harder than a long one. Routines depend on repetition, and when start times move, the cues that normally carry you through a morning disappear with them. Meals, sleep and exercise drift, and the evening you set aside for paperwork becomes the evening you needed just to recover.
Home can add another layer. Ajax households tend to be big: about four in ten have four or more people under one roof. The adult with ADHD in those homes is often also the one tracking school forms, activity schedules and appointments for everyone else, which leaves little working memory for their own list. When something slips, the private conclusion is usually that other people are simply trying harder. It is more accurate to say that attention, initiation and working memory are being asked for all day long, and that ADHD makes each of them expensive.
What tends to bring people in is not the distraction itself but everything stacked on top of it: the unopened envelope, the appointment missed again, the years of being told to apply yourself. We separate the two. What is genuinely a difficulty with attention has strategies; the shame that attached itself to it along the way has its own work, and for many adults it has cost more.
The work with Tina Abadi, RP, is cognitive behavioural and concrete. Rather than a system designed for an ideal week, you build a few sturdy anchors that survive a rota change: the same short routine at the start of any shift, one place where every household deadline lands, a reset you can run on a day off. Sessions are online, in English or Farsi, so there is no appointment to drive to after a night shift or a full day with the kids.
