Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
A morning that has to make one particular GO train, a day of forms and follow-ups, and an attention system asked to keep up with both. ADHD support for adults, online, built around the week you actually live.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

In Newmarket the working day often starts against a fixed clock. Anyone catching a GO train from Newmarket GO knows the timetable does not negotiate: miss that departure and the whole morning slides. For an adult with ADHD, transitions are already the costly part of the day (leaving the house, remembering the one thing you need, switching from home to work), and a hard departure time turns each small delay into a scramble. Even with a short drive to work, the same pinch shows up in school drop-offs and start times that do not move.
The work itself adds its own load. Newmarket is home to York Region's administrative centre, and a good deal of local work, in public administration, offices and clinics, runs on documentation: forms to complete, notes to write up, emails that need a reply by the end of the day. Those are exactly the tasks ADHD makes hardest to start, and when they pile up, the evening fills with catch-up and the private conclusion that you simply are not trying hard enough. That conclusion is usually wrong, and it tends to cost more than the missed deadline did.
The work here is practical and starts at the transitions, because that is almost always where the day actually breaks. Tina Abadi, RP, uses cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches: small, sturdy systems for getting out of the door and for starting the task you have been avoiding, built to survive a bad week, along with direct work on the self-blame that has usually been building for years. Sessions are online across Ontario, in English or Farsi, so there is no appointment to be late for.
