Something to use this week
CBT and solution-focused work, so sessions end with a concrete step rather than a general principle.
Days that start and end in the car, and an attention system that was already stretched before the drive. ADHD support for adults in Barrie, online, built around the transitions where the day usually breaks.
If the pattern goes back further than the to-do list, Ghazal Sheikhtaheri, RP (Qualifying), works in Schema Therapy (depth-oriented and unhurried).
Some people want tools for this week. Others want to trace a pattern to its root. Both are good therapy. Ghazal is currently booking by waitlist (3–4 weeks).
Most adults arrive at this conversation having already tried harder. Harder is not the missing ingredient, and it has usually been the only advice on offer for twenty years. What is actually difficult is a specific set of things: starting, sequencing, holding information in place while you use it, and switching between one mode and the next.
(This page is general information, not an assessment. A Registered Psychotherapist does not diagnose ADHD or prescribe medication, and you do not need a diagnosis for this work to be useful.)
Tina works in cognitive behavioural and solution-focused approaches, which in practice means sessions are structured without being rigid. You name what you want to be different, the two of you work out what is holding it in place, and you leave with something to try before the next one.
The systems are deliberately small. An elaborate one built on a good week will not survive a bad one, and every abandoned system becomes further evidence for a story you have been telling yourself for a long time. That story is the second half of the work, and for most people it turns out to be the half that was costing more.

Including the part of this that was never only about focus. Sessions in either language.
No commute and no waiting room, so the trip to an appointment is one less thing to manage.
Insurance receipts provided after every session. Tina is a fully Registered Psychotherapist, so psychotherapy with an RP is commonly covered; please confirm the details with your insurer.

Statistics Canada's 2021 Census put the average car commute in the Barrie census metropolitan area at 29.6 minutes, the longest among Canada's large census metropolitan areas. For an adult with ADHD, the drive itself is only part of the cost. Leaving the house is a transition, arriving is another, and the stretch of unstructured time in between is where intentions get formed and then evaporate before there is any chance to act on them. It is easy to plan the whole evening in the car and have none of it survive the walk to the front door.
The city's other rhythms bring their own pressures. Georgian College's main campus is here, and students juggling coursework, part-time jobs and, for some, a new country are asking a great deal of working memory and planning at once. Shift work in health care and manufacturing removes the regular sleep and routine that ADHD brains lean on most heavily. And for many adults the question arrives late, after years of a private story about being lazy or disorganized that was never accurate.
The work is practical and structured. With Tina Abadi, RP, you look at where the day actually breaks (almost always at a transition) and put something small and repeatable there, whether that is the ten minutes before leaving, the first task after arriving, or the moment you walk back in at night. Cognitive behavioural and solution-focused strategies do the practical lifting; the shame gets its own attention, because it is often the heavier half. Sessions are online across Ontario, in English or Farsi, which for Barrie means no extra drive.
