Root-cause approach
We don't just teach you to "manage stress." Using schema therapy, CBT, and emotion-focused techniques, we address the deep patterns that make you vulnerable to burnout in the first place.
Job cuts, more days back at the office, a reorganization that never quite ends: pressures like these reach past your energy and into old emotional patterns. The therapy here goes deeper than coping tips, by video for anyone in Ottawa or elsewhere in Ontario.

Workplace stress isn't just about a demanding job. It's about what gets activated inside you when work becomes overwhelming: the deep emotional patterns that were formed long before your current role.
From a schema therapy perspective, burnout often has roots in childhood. The need to constantly prove your worth. The belief that rest means laziness. The fear that saying no will lead to rejection. People-pleasing that began in your family and now plays out with bosses and colleagues. These aren't just "bad habits." They're survival strategies that once made sense but are now running your life.
For immigrant professionals, workplace stress carries additional layers. You may be navigating credential recognition battles, cultural adjustment, language barriers, or the relentless pressure to prove yourself in a country that doesn't always see your full capability. The exhaustion of code-switching, the isolation of being the "different one" on your team, the grief of a career that looks nothing like what you built back home.
This isn't about learning five tips to manage stress. It's about understanding why you're vulnerable to burnout in the first place, and about doing the deeper therapeutic work that creates lasting change.

In Ottawa, workplace stress often follows the federal public service, the city's largest employer. Rounds of workforce reductions and changes to how many days people must spend on site reach well beyond any one department: they shape commutes, childcare and whether a household feels secure. Being asked to spend more of the week at the office while wondering whether your team, or your own job, will still be there next year wears on anyone.
A day added to the office week has its own cost. It is another round trip by O-Train, bus or car, another morning of organizing children and lunches around a fixed start time, and one less day to recover quietly at home. For people who had built their energy around hybrid work, the change can look small on paper and feel much larger in the body. Therapy can help sort out what is fatigue, what is grief for a routine that worked, and what is an older habit of pushing through without complaint.
That combination produces a particular kind of strain. Some people keep their heads down and work harder, hoping visible effort will protect them. Others go numb and start counting the days. Many swing between the two, sleeping badly, short-tempered at home, replaying a conversation with a manager at two in the morning. None of this means you are handling it badly. It usually means an uncertain situation is landing on patterns that were in place long before this job.
It is not only the public service. Ottawa's technology sector, centred on the Kanata North tech park, has its own cycles of growth and restructuring, and people in tech can carry the same fear under a different logo. At The Ottawa Hospital, CHEO, the Montfort and the Queensway Carleton, staff work shifts that do not pause for a holiday or a snowstorm. Different workplaces, but the same questions keep surfacing: how much more can I give, and what happens to me if I stop? For newcomers building a career here, there can be an extra layer, the pressure to prove yourself in a second language while qualifications from home are still being recognized.
In sessions, Ghazal uses Schema Therapy with cognitive-behavioural and emotion-focused techniques to understand why certain pressures hit you so hard, from the need to prove your worth to the fear that saying no will cost you. Tina Abadi, RP, offers practical, CBT-based work on stress, sleep and self-esteem. Roya Dadollahi Sarab, RP, draws on CBT, ACT, DBT skills and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. All three work by video in English or Farsi, which means therapy does not add yet another commute to a week already shaped by office days. You join from home, whether that is Stittsville, the Glebe or anywhere else in Ontario.
